Kilmer Lucas is a leading independent investor relations and corporate communications agency serving the needs of public and pre-public companies in the North American marketplace. We are differentiated in three important ways. First, while we feel equally comfortable working on both sides of the border, we have had unique success in helping Canadian and other non-U.S. issuers to navigate and penetrate the U.S. capital markets and media. Second, we believe strongly in the convergence of investor and public relations. Third, strategic and day-to-day client account management is provided exclusively by senior practitioners - each possessing a minimum of 10 years of direct experience.

On the investor relations front, Stephen Kilmer (Managing Partner) has primary responsibility for helping our clients to develop and share compelling investment stories that create investor interest instead of just responding to it. Stephen is widely recognized as being a pioneer in the area of Canadian-U.S cross-border investor relations and financial communications. Prior to co-founding Kilmer Lucas, he was the Vice President of Investor & Public Affairs for OccuLogix Inc., a Boston-based medical device company. Before leading OccuLogix' spin-out IPO on the TSX and NASDAQ in 2004 (via what was, reportedly, the largest healthcare IPO in Canadian market history and the first successful IPO of a non-FDA-approved medical device company on NASDAQ in about a decade), he served as the Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for TLC Vision Corporation, the Mississauga-based LASIK eye surgery leader and OccuLogix' parent company. The foundation of Stephen's strong understanding of the capital markets is his earlier experience as an Account Director with CCN Matthews (now Marketwire) and as registered Investment Advisor with Midland Walwyn Capital (now Merrill Lynch Canada) and Marleau Lemire Securities.

Stephen has been a member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute ("CIRI") since 1996. He has served on the Board of Directors of CIRI Ontario and has been a frequent guest speaker at various CIRI chapter events and national conferences. Stephen has also been a member of the National Investor Relations Institute ("NIRI") in the U.S. since 1997. He authored an article in the May 2088 issue of NIRI's prestigious Investor Relations Update about his experience marketing a Canadian company to American hedge fund managers entitled, "My Company Went Public - and All I Got Was This T-shirt". Reprints of that article are available with our compliments upon request. In recognition of his expertise, Stephen was elected in June 2008 to the Board of Directors of NIRI's 400+ member Virtual Chapter, becoming the first-ever Canadian investor relations practitioner to be so honored.

On the public relations side, strategic counsel and hands-on program management is provided to our clients primarily by Leonard Zehr (Senior Partner). Before joining Kilmer Lucas in early 2008, Leonard amassed 36 years experience as a financial journalist, editor and manager with The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones News Service, and The Globe and Mail's Report on Business, where he pioneered the development and launch of the newspaper's Money & Markets section in the early 1990s. Most recently, he was Canada's leading biotechnology and healthcare writer, as well as the author of a highly popular stock market blog on globeandmail.com. Leonard helps to shape the reputation that Kilmer Lucas' clients carry in the minds of not only their investors, but also of their customers, employees, partners, vendors, regulators and even competitors.
