About Us

Kilmer Lucas is a leading investor relations and strategic advisory boutique. We combine a healthcare industry focus with a global reach. Working directly from our offices in New York, Toronto and San Francisco, and through a carefully assembled affiliate network that includes seasoned professionals based in Israel, Asia and Europe, we help our clients to successfully navigate and penetrate the capital markets and media both at home and abroad.

We are distinct in three important ways. First, we have been uniquely effective in leveraging our longstanding relationships and strong track record of success in the U.S. for the benefit of both domestic and non-U.S.-based companies. Second, in addition to providing a full range of traditional IR and PR services, we have developed particular expertise in IR 2.0 -- offering innovative social media strategies, programs and tools that are Reg FD compliant. Third, all strategic and day-to-day client program management is provided by senior practitioners - each possessing a minimum of 15 years of direct experience gained outside of an agency environment.

Leadership

On the investor relations front, Stephen Kilmer (President) has primary responsibility for helping our clients to develop and share compelling investment stories that create investor interest instead of just responding to it.

Stephen has been a frequent guest speaker and author on a wide variety of investor relations, IR 2.0 and financial communications topics. Prior to founding Kilmer Lucas, he was the Vice President of Investor & Public Affairs for OccuLogix Inc., a Boston-based medical device company. Before managing OccuLogix's spin-out on NASDAQ and the TSX, he served as the Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for TLC Vision Corporation, the LASIK eye surgery pioneer and OccuLogix's parent company. The foundation of Stephen's strong understanding of the financial media and capital markets is his earlier experience as a Senior Account Director with Marketwire and as a registered Investment Advisor with Merrill Lynch (Canada) and Marleau Lemire Securities. Stephen has been a member of the National Investor Relations Institute ("NIRI") since 1997. In recognition of his expertise, Stephen was elected to the Board of Directors of NIRI's 400+ member Virtual Chapter in June 2008.

Expertise

On the public relations side, strategic counsel and hands-on program management is provided to our clients primarily by Leonard Zehr (Managing Director). Before joining Kilmer Lucas, Leonard amassed 36 years experience as a financial journalist, editor and manager with The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones News Service, and The Globe and Mail's Report on Business, where he pioneered the development and launch of the newspaper's Money & Markets section in the early 1990s. Most recently, he was Canada's leading biotechnology and healthcare writer, as well as the author of a highly popular stock market blog on globeandmail.com. Leonard helps to shape the reputation that Kilmer Lucas' clients carry in the minds of not only their investors, but also of their customers, employees, partners, vendors, regulators and even competitors.
